Francesca Coin

is Professor of Sociology at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, where she teaches Neoliberal Policies and Global Social Movements. She is the Director of the Institute in Austerity, Society and the Commons at the Global Center for Advanced Studies. She has published extensively on the relationship between finance, labor and subjectivity, drawing particularly on the work of Marx, Nietzsche and Deleuze to undo the notion of subjectivity in the neoliberal world. Currently, she is based in Athens where she is doing research on the impact of austerity on life in Greece. The tension between austerity and the commons is the topic of her latest book, Non salvateci più—Οχι áλλο σẃσιμο (2016).
