Within the research association The Formation of Normative Orders he is co-leader of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) research project “The Political Difference of Life: For a Reconceptualization of the Crisis of State and Society.” His main research interests are in political, legal and social philosophy and in the theory of history. He received his PhD in 2017 with a thesis about the relation between state of exception and human rights. In 2018 his first book, Mensch und Maßnahme. Zur Dialektik von Ausnahmezustand und Menschenrechten was published with Velbrük.
