Pierre Guyotat has been revolutionizing the imagination and language with his writing for over five decades. It is essentially figures and voices that make this unique work into a linguistic body and a body language.
The exhibition Pierre Guyotat – Figures and Other Voices relates the texts of this most radical of authors in the French language to two forms of expression that have been constitutive for him since his youth: drawing and vocal performance. The presentation traces an arc from Guyotat’s earliest drawings to his current practice, with sound recordings giving access to a unique art between musicality and violence, sexuality and language.
