studied philosophy, pedagogy, psychology, sociology and theology in Freiburg i. Br. and Berlin. He was awarded a PhD in philosophy from the University of Freiburg i. Br. for his dissertation on Emmanuel Lévinas and Martin Heidegger. His Habilitation deals with the concept of ›passibilité‹ and was accepted by the University of Potsdam. Currently Michael Mayer teaches Media Studies in Potsdam and regularly contributes, amongst others, to NZZ and the artnet.de magazine.
