is a Swiss Art Historian, who currently works as co-editor of the art magazine »Parkett«. During her training as a conservatory at the Istituto Centrale del Restauro, Rom she worked for the ICCROM (International Center for Conservation and Restauration, Rome) on projects in Dublin, Segovia, Brașov (Romania), Venice and Göreme (Turkey). She then went on to study Art History, Archaeology and Non-European Art at the Zurich University of the Arts and graduated with a Ph.D. on »Giulio Romano, Regisseur einer Verlebendigten Antike« in 1989.
studied Art History. She was teaching at the Universities of Konstanz, Bern, Zurich and ETH Zurich and went on research trips to Florence, Rome and Berlin before she became SNSF Professor at University of Geneva.
is Professor for the History of Art and Architecture, ETH Zürich and member of the Zentrum Geschichte des Wissens, a competence center founded in 2005 by ETH Zürich and Universität Zürich. He studied art history, history and german literature in Geneva, Vienna and Berlin, and received his Ph.D. from the Freie Universität Berlin in 1993. He completed his habilitation treatise in 1999 at the ETH Zürich. He taught at Universities in Geneva, Basel and Zürich, the Ecole Supérieure d’Art Visuel, the ETH Zürich, the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weissensee, der Universität der Künste Berlin and the Columbia University, New York.
