is Professor of History of Art at the University of Siegen. He studied history of art, philosophy and musicology in Bochum, Rome und Berlin. He was editor of the »Daidalos« architecture magazine for a number of years. In 1996, he founded Edition Imorde. After obtaining his doctorate on Roman festive architecture in the Baroque period, he worked as a research assistant at the Institute for the History and Theory of Architecture at ETH Zurich. In 2001, he obtained a position as a stipend-holder in the Kultbild research group at the University of Münster. He has also held stipends from the Volkswagen Foundation, Thyssen Foundation, and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
