is a historian at the intersection of cultural history, environmental history, and history of technology, and currently working as Assistant Professor at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal. She has worked and written on diverse themes such as mobile media, design and the popularization of technology in the 20th century. She is completing a book on the comparative history of municipal waste in (West) Germany and France (1890s–1970s) that elaborates on the treatment of things and stuff from consumption to wasting, disposing and potential recycling. Together with Ruth Oldenziel, she has co-edited a special issue on Recycling and Re-use in the 20th Century (Contemporary European History 3, 2013) that spots the different European ways into »throw-away societies«.
