180 Sekunden, 2 Angriffe, 6 Tote: CAD als forensische Zeitkapsel
Ein Kommentar zur Drohnen-Fallstudie Nr. 4 der Forensic Architecture Research Group

PDF, 6 pages

Forensic architecture is not about traducing mute witnesses. It’s about producing time capsules for a potential trial in the future. What kind of knowledge is produced by a CAD image of a destroyed building in Gaza? Which sorts of media are involved in forensic procedures? And how is evidence fabricated? The comment on the drone strike case study no.4 concerns a critique of the images produced, reused and circulated by Eyal Weizman and the Forensic Architecture Research Group. It argues that the use of images is connected to several purposes: They are immutable mobiles in the sense of Bruno Latour. They are media of immersion trying to attract an international audience via the Internet. And they serve strategies of circulationisms in the way Hito Steyerl described the modes of image use on the Internet.
