studied Medieval German and English Literature at the University of Paderborn. In 2003 she received her doctoral degree at the Humboldt-University of Berlin. Since 2010 she is a Junior Professor at the Ruhr-University Bochum, where her habilitation was concluded in 2013. Her main research is focussed on 13./14.th century courtly literature, vernacular legends and poetry praising the Virgin Mary as well as geometric technical literature of the Early Modern Period.
is professor of Media History and Communication Theory at Ruhr University, Bochum. He was research assistant at the collaborate research centre »Literatur und Anthropologie« in Constance. His PhD thesis was concerned with data processing and mnemonic strategies in the Baroque period; his professorial dissertation was on the interdependency between media and anthropology and he has since focussed on the history of science, media theory and cultural techniques.
